Biography

Crystal Robins is a songwriter living on Larrakia country (Darwin NT) in the tropical north of Australia.

With stunning vocals and intricate guitar playing, Crystal’s songs weave a dreamy mix of indie-folk with a twist of alt-country and Americana, layering lush harmonies to accompany her heartfelt lyrics.

Crystal independently released her debut EP 'Wildfire' in 2021, which was recorded & produced in Darwin, and features local & interstate collaborations.

Her debut single release 'Wildfire' hit No. 6 on the National AMRAP Radio Charts, and was shortlisted in the Australian Songwriting Awards (Country Song of The Year). Crystal was also named as a finalist for an Australian Folk Music Award 2022, and for an NT Music Award for 'Folk Song of the Year' 2022 ('So High') and 'Country Song of The Year' 2023 ('Unravel').

Over the past few years she has supported the likes of Josh Pyke, Wendy Matthews, KINGSWOOD, Brad Cox, Dan Sultan and more, at their Darwin shows.

In 2023 Crystal was awarded a scholarship to attend The Academy of Country Music in Tamworth in 2024, a 12 day program of intensive workshops, mentoring, songwriting and performing opportunities, preceding the annual Tamworth Country Music Festival.

She was also selected to take part in AIR’s Women in Music Mentorship Program, receiving mentoring and professional development opportunities with top artists in the Australian music industry.

After several years in the making, 'Moonflower', Robins’ 11-track debut LP, was officially released in February 2025, and has been warmly received by audiences and media alike. The album has gained radio airplay locally, nationally, and internationally, along with several album feature placements. On 22 February 2025 'Moonflower' became the spotlight album on ABC Country's Saturday Night Country, the flagship national country radio show hosted by multi award-winning country legend Beccy Cole.

You can find Crystal performing regularly around Darwin's local spots, or touring her music around the country to Desert Festival (Alice Springs NT), Cygnet Folk Festival (TAS), Tablelands Folk Festival (QLD), as well as Tamworth Country Music Festival for the last 5 years in NSW.

And it doesn't stop there - Crystal is also passionate about her work as a registered music therapist working with people with disabilities & in mental health in the NT, with the belief that “music is a powerful art form with the ability to heal through songwriting & storytelling, and importantly as a way to connect with others.”
